PSTrax Is Now Available to Canadian Public Safety Agencies Through Canoe Procurement Group
Many Canadian fire departments run EMS alongside fire suppression. That means managing vehicle inspections, controlled substances tracking, PPE compliance, and supply inventory across two operational worlds, often with the same crew and the same administrative bandwidth. Add provincial compliance requirements on top of that, and the paperwork alone becomes a full-time job.
PSTrax was built to take that load off the crew. And now, Canadian public safety agencies have a faster, simpler path to get it.
PSTrax is now available to Canadian fire, EMS, and law enforcement agencies through Canoe Procurement Group of Canada, using the existing Sourcewell cooperative contract (#030425-SAU). Eligible agencies can access PSTrax without running a standalone RFP process.
What Is Canoe?
Canoe Procurement Group of Canada is one of the largest public sector buying groups in the country, serving over 6,000 municipalities, public sector entities, and not-for-profit organizations across 12 provinces and territories. Built by the public sector for the public sector, Canoe gives Canadian organizations access to pre-tendered, trade-compliant contracts without the time and cost of a standalone procurement process.
Canoe has been the Canadian partner for Sourcewell since 2014. When Sourcewell awards a contract to a vendor, Canoe co-tenders the RFP to confirm full compliance with Canadian trade regulations, including CFTA and CETA. That means the PSTrax contract is available to Canadian agencies through Canoe, fully compliant and ready to use.
What This Means for Canadian Agencies
For a fire department in Alberta, an EMS agency in Ontario, or a police service in Nova Scotia, the path to PSTrax just got shorter. Member organizations can access PSTrax through the existing contract managed by Canoe, bypassing the traditional RFP process entirely.
Procurement timelines shrink from months to weeks. Internal resources that would have gone toward a formal tender process get redirected. And because the contract was competitively solicited and co-tendered to meet Canadian trade requirements, agencies can move forward with confidence.
For departments already stretched on administrative bandwidth, this removes a real barrier to getting the tools they need.
What Canadian Agencies Get with PSTrax
PSTrax is a cloud-based operations management platform built specifically for Fire and Rescue, EMS, and Law Enforcement agencies. The platform replaces paper logs and spreadsheets with digital, automated workflows across every area of daily operations.
Modules include Vehicles, Stations, Supplies, Assets, SCBA, PPE, Controlled Substances, and Blood Products. Each module is custom-configured to match how the agency actually operates, not built around a fixed template. For Canadian departments managing both fire and EMS responsibilities, that flexibility matters. PSTrax adapts to the workflows already in place, whether that means tracking narcotics across a mixed fire-EMS fleet or managing SCBA compliance alongside jump kit inventory.
Agencies using PSTrax report measurable outcomes: faster shift checks, more reliable equipment records, improved compliance documentation, and less time spent on administrative tasks. The platform scales from single-station departments to large multi-station agencies.
Implementation is turnkey. PSTrax configures the system, builds out the workflows, and trains the team, typically within weeks and without a complex IT project.
A Faster Path to Readiness
Canadian public safety agencies face the same operational challenges as their counterparts across North America: paper-based processes that create compliance gaps, equipment records that don’t survive shift changes, and administrative workloads that pull crews away from mission-critical work.
The Canoe contract removes the procurement barrier that might otherwise delay solving those problems. If your agency is already a Canoe member, or is eligible to join, you can access PSTrax today through the Sourcewell contract (#030425-SAU).
