What untracked PPE puts at risk

Protective equipment protects the people wearing it, but only if it is maintained, correctly assigned, and retired before it degrades. On paper, gear stays in service past its NFPA retirement age, cleaning cycles go unverified, and exposure events go undocumented.

The cost lands in two places. Degraded or contaminated turnout gear fails in the field when conditions get extreme. Every piece of PPE is assigned to a specific member. Assignment history is maintained so the complete chain of custody for each item is always available.

Cleaning cycle scheduling

Advanced and routine cleaning cycles are scheduled automatically based on NFPA requirements and agency policy. Completion is verified in the system. No cleaning goes unrecorded.

Contamination exposure logging

Exposure events are logged per item and per member at the time of occurrence. Complete exposure histories are available for health monitoring, workers' compensation claims, and compliance reviews.

NFPA 1851 retirement scheduling

Retirement dates are calculated and tracked per item based on manufacture date and service history. Advance alerts flag gear approaching end of life before it stays in service past the NFPA retirement threshold.

Inspection records

Periodic gear inspections are scheduled and logged. Inspection results, repairs, and status changes are all documented against the individual item.
